Efforts to investigate and prosecute war crimes have transformed over the past three decades - from the ad hoc tribunals of the 1990s to the International Criminal Court and today's universal jurisdiction cases. New technologies and methods, from digital forensics and open-source intelligence to survivor-led documentation, are reshaping how justice is pursued. The CEO of The Reckoning Project introduces innovations in evidence-gathering, and the urgent need for credible, effective systems of justice in conflicts spanning Palestine, Sudan, Syria, and Ukraine.
Over a journalistic career spanning more than three decades, di Giovanni has reported from nearly every major conflict zone of our time: the siege of Sarajevo and conflicts throughout the Balkans, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, South Sudan, Yemen, and Ukraine — a total of 18 conflicts and three genocides. Her books include The Morning They Came for Us: Dispatches from Syria and The Vanishing: Faith, Loss, and the Twilight of Christianity in the Land of the Prophets.
Chaired by Peter Florence.

The Autumn Lecture Series is working with the European Festivals Forest to plant trees to mitigate our carbon footprint. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed and already planted a hectare of mixed woodland, banking 700 metric tonnes of carbon.
