Hi! With “Immernie”, Spencer is making an album that is not looking for clear answers. It is an album about enduring one's own ambivalence.
Feelings are rarely clear-cut. Hope meets doubt, a spirit of optimism meets homesickness — and sometimes everything feels heavy and easy at the same time. Connect with “Immernie” Hi! Spencer personal moments with universal stories. They talk about summers that always go. And of days that never come. Of sadness and euphoria. In doing so, the band is not looking for either/or, but allows opposites to stand side by side. “Always” is the recognition that things end. And that is precisely where its significance lies.
Translate musically Hi! Spencer this area of tension in songs that push and drive at the same time. “Immernie” is softly loud, slowly fast and euphorically melancholy. Verses stretch excitingly and then burst into chorus. In doing so, the band shows once again that indie, pop, rock and punk do not contradict each other, but push each other forward. Driving guitars, warm synths and big melodies combine to create songs that stick. The artwork also picks up on this idea: The central motif is a burst bubble of chewing gum — a metaphor for heavy lightness. For all the things that seem endless and then suddenly fall apart. Playful and snotty, melancholy and final at the same time.
This isn't one of those quick breakthrough stories. Hi! Spencers have grown like a bubble of gum: slowly, steadily, but with pressure behind it. No hype, no abbreviations — just bite through, carry on, persistence. From small cellar clubs where sweat drips from the ceiling to the big stages in the country. Play it all yourself, step by step. And that's exactly why it lasts here: because it hasn't inflated, but grown. “Immernie” is the moment when nothing can be trivialized anymore — loud, iridescent and powerful Hi! Spencer realizes: her years are far from over.
The band's songs have now been viewed by millions of times on streaming portals. After sold-out club tours through Germany and Austria in 2025, the band has long been one of the most popular guests at major festivals, including Hurricane, Deichbrand and Highfield.
“Immernie” will be released on 21.08.2026 on the Merchcowboy Records label. For everyone who wants to hear the record live, send Zündstoff Booking Hi! Spencer on a club tour across Germany in autumn 2026.
The album was recorded with Tobi Schneider at DocMaklang Studio Osnabrück. The visual concept and artwork were written by the Osnabrück-based creative team Kräm.
