About the event

Białystok Cultural Centre and the Association “Polish Community” invite you to a concert

A story we will never forget. 90th anniversary of the deportation of Poles to Kazakhstan

October 13, 2026, 1:00 p.m.

Forum Cinema, 5 Legionowa Street

Tickets are valid — available from 2 October at the ticket offices of the Forum Cinema and the Ludwik Zamenhof Centre. One person can receive 2 tickets.

The project is dedicated to commemorating the 90th anniversary of the deportation of Poles to Kazakhstan — one of the most tragic and for many years also overlooked chapters of Polish history of the 20th century. Its goal is to preserve the memory of the events of 1936, popularize knowledge about the fate of Poles deported to northern Kazakhstan and show the experiences of subsequent generations of Polish exiles. An important dimension of the project is also the strengthening of ties between Poles living in the country and Polish communities in Kazakhstan.

The concert will take the form of an artistic story about the fate of Poles torn from their homelands and thrown into the depths of the Soviet “prison of nations”. Through words, music and acting interpretations, the drama of deportation, the difficult experiences of life in exile, as well as the strength of Polish identity, family memory and attachment to the homeland will be presented.

Białystok actress Aneta Todorczuk is responsible for the script of the concert, while the musical direction was entrusted to the musician and arranger Michał Lamża. The event will be attended by actors: Maciej Maciejewski, Magdalena Smalara, Monika Mariotti, Wojciech Brzeziński and Aneta Todorczuk, as well as musicians: Wojciech Gumiński, Szymon Linette, Mateusz Szemraj and Michał Lamża.

The concert is non-commercial, and the participation of the audience will serve primarily to fulfill its educational and commemorative mission. Residents of Białystok are invited to participate in the event, with special emphasis on high school students. We want the concert to become for the younger generation not only an encounter with culture and art, but also an important history lesson and an opportunity to learn about the fate of Poles deported to Kazakhstan.

We invite you to remember this story together.

Organizer: Association “Polish Community”

Partners: Union of Poles in Kazakhstan, Bialystok Cultural Center

The event, implemented as part of a task co-financed by the Senate Chancellery, takes place under the Honorary Patronage of the Senate Marshals Ms. Małgorzata Kidawy-Błońska.
