HOLA GHOST duels with death in VEGA
On All Saints' Eve, something very special happens in Lille VEGA.
For the Danish rock band, HOLA GHOST, the 31st of October fires up their characteristic universe of dark tales, western atmosphere and explosive energy.
Wearing Day of the Dead face masks and flanked by a mariachi fan section, the cast is set for an energetic and intense concert with the Danish rock quintet. An evening where elements of surf-rock, Mexican folklore, punk and spaghetti-western soundtracks merge into a very special, offbeat cocktail of dark, Scandinavian mariachi rock.
HOLA GHOST has toured Europe, the United States, Mexico and South America and has released several albums, EPs and singles. The band is now underway with their upcoming third album, which is set for release on the acclaimed Finnish record label Svart Records.
Their releases range from the soundtrack to the debut film of artist Gris Grimly, who has since won an Oscar for Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (2022), to contributions to the Rancid tribute album Hooligans United (2015).
The band was formed by Peter Sandorff (formerly of Nekromantix) and Jeppe B. Jessen in connection with work on the soundtrack for the American horror film Cannibal Flesh Riot! (2007). Since then, HOLA GHOST has evolved into a five-man band with drummer Kristian Sandorff and the trumpeters from The Haunted Horns.
All Saints Eve provides an obvious setting for HOLA GHOST's cinematic and dark universe, and the audience in VEGA can expect a concert where atmosphere, intensity and community go hand in hand with the dead and the living.
