Become a meteorologist and create a micro:bit weather station using real sensors
Weather stations across the UK constantly record data such as air temperature, atmospheric pressure and rainfall. These observations help meteorologists understand current weather conditions and predict what the weather will do next.
In this hands-on workshop, participants will use a BBC micro:bit to build and program their own working weather station, wiring up real sensors to measure temperature, humidity and light and displaying live data on screen. By combining electronics, programming and environmental science, participants will gain a real insight into the technologies that help us understand our changing climate every single day.
For children who are in Years 5 or 6 this term. This typically corresponds to children aged around 9–11 years old. We reserve the right to refund or deny entry to those who are not in the correct year group.
Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions. Please also note that Eventbrite adds a small booking fee to the amount paid for each ticket option.
