With its new image of man, art at the beginning of the 20th century is changing perspectives and breaking borders. Visual arts, literature, music and architecture flow together in artistic processes. Berlin will thus become an important location for emerging art movements.
Expressionists such as Otto Möller and Gottfried Benn express their subjective experience of the world in their paintings and poetry. Architecture also follows expressionist paths. These led Otto Bartning with his crystal-like star church, for example, to a completely new design for a religious building. Dada finally breaks down the last conventions with collages, phonetic poems or random music. This leads to unexpected ideas of what art can and should do.
We encounter all of this on a tour of the permanent exhibition, in which we listen, touch and share our impressions with each other. We are excited and look forward to seeing you!
The exhibition tour is aimed at blind, visually impaired and sighted people.
A tandem tour with Christine Rieger and Markus Strieder
Can be booked directly here.
In cooperation with Museumsdienst Berlin
