Hormones affect many processes in our bodies — from metabolism and energy levels, to sleep and appetite, to the changes in well-being that accompany each phase of the cycle. In the rush of information about “hormonal balance”, however, it is easy to get lost between facts, simplifications and popular myths. Therefore, during the next meeting of the cycle Woman in the Center, we will look at hormones without secrets, basing the conversation on reliable knowledge and practical tips that can be used on a daily basis.

About the event

Hormones affect many processes in our bodies — from metabolism and energy levels, to sleep and appetite, to the changes in well-being that accompany each phase of the cycle. In the rush of information about “hormonal balance”, however, it is easy to get lost between facts, simplifications and popular myths. Therefore, during the next meeting of the cycle Woman in the Center, we will look at hormones without secrets, basing the conversation on reliable knowledge and practical tips that can be used on a daily basis.

During the meeting we will find out what hormones actually are and what role they play in the body, and then we will look at how the changes that occur in the individual phases of the cycle can relate to our well-being, energy or appetite. We will also talk about insulin and insulin resistance, thinking about the importance of the way of nutrition in this case and why it is not worth reducing the whole problem solely to eliminating certain products.

There will also be topics that are increasingly appearing in conversations about women's health. We will explain what cortisol is actually about, how thyroid hormones are related to metabolism and how melatonin, circadian rhythm and a properly composed diet can support the body in case of sleep problems.

The meeting will be an opportunity to acquire structured knowledge, ask questions and better understand the signals sent by one's own organism. Instead of looking for more “hormone miracle cures,” we will try to understand the dependencies that occur in our bodies and look at what we can actually influence through everyday choices.

The meeting will be led by Aleksandra Pichur — clinical nutritionist and psychodietician, graduate of the Medical University in Wrocław and psychodietetics at WSB Merito University in Gdynia. In her work, among other things, she deals with the nutrition of people with insulin resistance and thyroid diseases, including Hashimoto, and tries to translate her expertise into simple and applicable solutions in everyday life. She also completed specialized training on insulin resistance, thyroid diseases, psychodietetics and women's nutrition, among others.

After the lecture part, each participant will have the opportunity to perform an analysis of body composition, thanks to which the meeting will also gain a practical dimension.

If you want to better understand your body, organize your knowledge about hormones and find out what importance your daily diet can have for your health, we invite you to meet and talk together.
