In 2023, Patrycja Wojkowska went to New Zealand alone as part of the Work and Holiday program. She spent several months there, traveling and getting to know the people of the country. She lived with a New Zealand family, learned about Maori culture and met Poles living on the other side of the world.
During the meeting, he will talk about Maori culture, cultural differences and stereotypes. She will explain what pounamu is - an important stone for the Maori people, which she received during her journey. He will also talk about the tattoo made by Maoris and what it meant. Her story will include solitary expeditions, survival on the slopes of volcanoes and situations in which she had to cope alone far from home.
During the lecture, Patrycja will also play tank drums. Music accompanied her on her travels and was an opportunity for many encounters with New Zealanders. The meeting will be complemented by photos and stories described in the book “Pākehā. Where no one was waiting
