WaluśkraksAkrzys is currently one of the most sought-after artists of the young generation. He has released 4 albums — “Miłymłodyczłowiek” (2019, ed. Three Sixes), “Attack” (2021, ed. Mystic Production), awarded Fryderyk in the category “Album of the Year — Rock” for the album “+ pielło + niebo +” (2023, ed. Mystic Production). This album was also included in the lists of the best albums of the year in opinion-forming media, on the Onet portal or in the weekly “Polityka” — right next to the albums of Zdechły Osy, Kasi Lins or the Kacperczyk brothers, on which WaluśkraksAkrzys left his mark in the form of featurations.
Currently, Waluśkraksakrzys has released his fourth album entitled “Themes and Variations”, which premiered on September 12, 2025. This title — taken from a collection of essays by the English writer, essayist and philosopher Aldous Huxley — is a loose reference and at the same time a clue to the theme of the album — hot topics and worldwide variations. For this album, he was nominated for the Paszportów Polityka 2025 in the category Popular Music. Next nominations: Ticketmaster — in the Best Club Band category. O'lśnienia, Onet.pl, M.St. Warszawa and TVP Kultura in the Popular Music category for the album “Themes and Variations”. The artist was awarded the Fryderyk 2026 award for the album “Themes and Variations” in the Rock & Blues category.

On the ruins of the Deuter formation, the HOUK team was formed in 1988. The group included guitarist Robert Sadowski, later leader of the progressive metal Kobong, Tadeusz Kaczorowski, Piotr “Fala” Falkowski and vocalist Dariusz Malejonek. From the beginning Houk played a large number of concerts, in Poland and abroad. An important and groundbreaking performance was a concert at the Jarocin Festival in 1990.
The first album Soul Ammunition, recorded in four days in Robert Brylewski's Złota Skała studio, was released in 1992. The editorial staff of the monthly magazine “Only Rock” recognized Houk as the debut of the year. In February 1993, the band performed at the 27th Midem '93 International Music Fair in Cannes. It was an award for taking first place in the listeners' poll of Radio France Internationale. The show was recorded and broadcast several times by MTV.
Also, the performance in the final of the first edition of the prestigious event Marlboro Rock In 93' was an important moment for the band and coincided with the intensive development of their work.
The next album — the concert Natural Way (Full Noize) was released in 1993. It was a recording of a concert recorded on 21 January 1993 at the Riviera Remont club in Warsaw. The album included covers of songs by Jimi Hendrix, Iggy Pop, T.Rex.
In February 1993, Houk was invited by Finnish director Mika Kaurismäki to the world premiere of “The Last Border”. In this film, the composition “Soul Ammunition II” was used as the title track. After the premiere, the group played a short tour of Finland. Excerpts from The Last Border were later used in the music video for the song “Transmission Into Your Heart”. On February 21, 1994, the album Transmission Into Your Heart was released. The album was promoted by a music video for the title track.
Houk, recognized as the leading band of the Polish alternative and grunge scene, played as a support for several foreign stars, such as: New Model Army, Bad Brains, Clawfinger.
After guitarist Robert Sadowski left the band. In August 1994, Darek Malejonek decided to dissolve the band and began cooperation with the musicians of the Ahimsa band. Thus, the composition of the Houk band consisted of: Paweł Krawczyk (“Gruby”), Mirosław Grewiński (“Miro”), Tomek Sierajewski (“Bolek”) and Tomasz Grewiński (“Tomik”).
“Warsaw's AHIMSA was one of the most important bands of the independent hardcore scene of the early 1990s. They paved the way, opened doors, prompted people to think and strongly inspired their message to act and to work on themselves. The band started in 1989 and was one of the first fully vegetarian groups on the Polish scene. It was also one of the first national teams and one of the few in Europe at the time to adhere to the principles of abstinence and straight edge. In their message, however, the themes of respect for animal rights, ecology, humanism, self-realization and the promotion of the principles of non-violence were more important. In times of political transformation, when violence erupted violently at concerts and in the streets, this was a very bold, if not revolutionary, postulate. Their activities for animal rights and environmental protection have repeatedly gone beyond the scope of musical activity.”
On November 20, 1995, the premiere of the album Generation X took place, which was promoted by the music video for the song “Money”. Images were also shot for the songs “Stand Up”, “Woman”, where excerpts from Kaurismäki's film Condition red and “I live in this city” were used. The album was nominated for the Fryderyk '96 Award in the Rock Album of the Year category.
All records from the discography of the band HOUK are already available on streaming portals.
On July 18, 2026, for the first time in 36 years on the stage in Jarocin, HOUK played in the last line-up known from the GENERATION X album, and on November 5, the band will perform alongside Waluśkraksakrzys in Warsaw's Stodole.
