Iceage

Mighty energy discharges hit VEGA with Iceage

When Iceage recently played their latest masterful album For Love of Grace & the Hereafter on the floor of Store VEGA, the audience was struck by post-punk pressure waves that made the brown panels vibrate with tact.

GAFFA awarded four sparkling stars and reported from the rocking floor of the hall: “The Danish rock band is one of the country's biggest international successes. In Store VEGA, they played directly on the floor and showed how to create a party with guitar riffs and heavy drums.”

At the end of May, the band released their sixth studio album, which like the previous releases has been sprinkled with stars and praises by reviewers from home and abroad. Soundvenue, among others, wrote in their dazzling review:

“There's chaotic punk, sparkling declarations of love for people and life, but in the field of tension between the raw and the melodic, Iceage is most of all themselves—and listening to them has never been more fun than right now.”

For Love of Grace & the Hereafter is produced and mixed by Iceage itself in collaboration with producer Nis Bysted. The result is an album that feels both explosive and uplifting: energetic, melodic and propelled by a new direction in the band's sonic universe.

The first songs took shape in the wake of lead singer Elias Rønnenfelt's solo album Heavy Glory (2024). With the ballads from that album out of the system, the band looked back toward the raw and explosive.

“Having had an outlet for stripped-back balladry, it felt like the right thing to channel a more ferocious side of ourselves for the band's next step.” says Elias Rønnenfelt in a press release for the release.
