Idealistisk festivalen

The eighth edition of Idealistic is back! This year's festival will be held for the first time in two cities: Gdansk (25—27.09.2026) and Szczecin (23.10.2026), bringing together independent Polish, Danish and international scene, combining experimental, improvised and cross-genre music with visual arts.

From the very beginning, Idealistic Festival focuses on creative uncompromisingness, we do not categorize artists by style or popularity — we bring together artists with original artistic direction, regardless of internship or genre. This year, for the first time, the program is spread between two cities: Gdańsk, where the festival has been hosting for several editions, and Szczecin, where sound installations, improvised and electronic music will meet in the TRAFO space. Idealistic activities in Szczecin are also linked to the international tekhnoe conference (held on 22-23 October).

The program of the eighth edition includes, among others, the first concert of Portal Pets and Daniella Ljungsberg in Poland; a great improvisation with the participation of Signe Emmeluth, Szymon Pimpon Gąsiorek and Michał Jan Ciesielski; the premiere of the EP GALT1 — “Klucz”; large-format sound installation Tubatek — the first ceramic sound system of Beata Zać and Zofia Pysz; installation of the collection Euronetwork; hidden eight-minute performances between concerts in different corners of Gdańsk, special event “Idealistic Drone for Helmut Nadolski” or performance and workshops with the legendary Tadeusz Courthouse. The festival deviates from the traditional listening model, placing artists and the audience at the center of the space using immersive sound systems in both cities.

MORE ABOUT IDEALISTIC FESTIVAL The festival was created in 2019 on the initiative of musicians Kamil Piotrowicz (vræżlivøść, Kamil Piotrowicz Sextet, Hałvva, Hirjjo, Wojtczak/Piotrowicz, LAWAAI) and Szymon Pimpon Gąsiorek (Pimpono Ensemble, E/I, Czajka & Puchacz, Love & Beauty Music). While studying at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, they observed many grassroots initiatives promoting uncompromising author's music that seemed isolated and limited in scope. They decided to create a platform connecting and strengthening the independent music scene — a bridge between Scandinavia and Central and Eastern Europe. Previous editions have been held in Copenhagen (ALICE, Stairway, Mayhem), Warsaw (SpatiF, Chmury, Hashtag Lab, Plakaton, KCEM), Gdańsk (Kolonia Artistów, IKM) and Ljubljana (PLAC), presenting more than a hundred artists. The festival was positively described by the press, including: Glissando, Dwutygodnik, JazzPress, Seismograf, Polifonia, Passive/Aggressive.
