Born in New York City and raised by her mother, a sculptor, and her father, a classical composer, Ingrid Michaelson has artistry in her DNA. At four she began taking piano lessons, but it wasn’t until after she graduated college that she began to write her own songs.
Michaelson is known for her distinctively soulful folk-pop style. Most recently, Ingrid composed and shepherded the Original Broadway Cast Recording of The Notebook on Atlantic Records. She’s scored songs for television and was executive music producer for Apple TV+’s Slumberkins, creating songs for the series.
Most recently she’s been seen in Netflix’s ‘Girls 5 Eva’, and starred in ‘Humor Me’ alongside Jemaine Clement and Elliott Gould. She made her Broadway stage debut in ‘Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812’.
