Others | Labyrinths of Horror

Reissued in digitally restored copy to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the film's release.

The end of the Second World War is approaching. The voices of two children echo across the beautiful, empty Victorian mansion. The boy and the girl suffer from a rare disease, an allergy to sunlight. In the court there are merciless rules: the house must always be immersed in twilight, and the door must not be opened without first closing all the others. Grace in vain expects her husband to return from the front. The remote, windswept island of Jersey fills her with dread. Only at home does he feel really safe. Wrongly...

The beautiful Grace (Nicole Kidman) begins to be surrounded by a thicket of questions that she can't find answers to. Why does the service leave the court under unexplained circumstances? Why does a little girl talk about strange characters visiting her room? Why can't Grace resist the impression that these are not just childish fantasies?
