Benjamin Britten introduces us to the orchestra and all its instruments with his music. We get to know them as the most diverse animals and creatures: sometimes chirping and nimble like a bird, sometimes deep and heavy like an elephant, or gliding and shiny like a fish. The starting point is a single, recurring theme that gradually travels through the entire orchestra. This is how we notice how the instruments differ and what they have in common: high and low, light and dark, loud and quiet — everything is there.
