Music for aliens, created by mutants.

About the event

Doors: 19:00

Music for aliens, created by mutants. Intercourse was formed in 2013 and has been annoying ever since. With the ambitious (or nonsensical, depending on who you ask) goal of taking the self-solemnity away from noise rock and fusing the genre with the immediacy of hardcore, they've managed to put out at least one release a year since 2014.

The acclaimed noise rock band from Connecticut released their latest full-length album, 'How I Fell in Love with the Void' in 2025. The album is a visceral and uncompromising exploration of life's darkest nooks and crannies. Driven by lead singer Tarek Ahmed's tireless creative urge and self-ironic humor, the album delves even deeper into the societal problems and personal struggles that have characterized the band's music since 2013. From the disillusioned soul-searching in “Another Song About the Sun” to the searing commentary on marginalization in “Family Suicide Gun,” 'How I Fell in Love with the Void' is a raw and unvarnished look at the emptiness that many are trying to fill -- and the ultimate liberation that exists in accepting it.

The album was recorded and produced by Chris Teti ('The World Is A Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid To Die') and mastered by George Richter ('Thy Will Be Done'). On 'How I Fell in Love with the Void', Intercourse appears stronger and more uncompromising than ever. Numbers like the explosive opener “The Ballad of Max Wright” go hard to stage-politics and envy, while “Zoloft and Blow” delivers a dark reflection on tragic fates in celebrity life. With carefully crafted lyrics and an evocative cover by Sherilyn Furneaux, the album cements Intercourse's position as a mouthpiece for “outsiders and originals” -- a defiant soundtrack for those standing outside looking in, who know the emptiness from within and no longer let themselves be weighed down by its grip.
