Try playing table role-playing games with Morten and Troels from Dicework. We sit at a table with friends or family, the dice roll, and together you decide how the story goes. We need no screen or power, only paper and dice and a jacked imagination.
Role-playing games have become increasingly popular in recent years, but it can be difficult to figure out where to start. It doesn't get any easier if you want to play in Danish. Dragons and Demons a good place to start. It is the Danish version of Dragonbane, which is based on the classic Swedish role-playing game Drakar och Demoner. The rules are simple to suit new players, families with children and seasoned adventurers.
We will do that:We explain what role-playing games are and how a game goesWe go through what you need: dice rules, etc.We play a short adventure The main target audience is from 10 years old and up — Troels and Morten answer questions for both children and adults. No experience required — you just have to want to play the coolest game in the world.
A short adventure could start like this: Troels, your game manager, lays down the dice and leans in over the table:
“The torches are blazing. The dragon roars so that the rock walls shake, and in front of you something black and hissing crawls up from the depths. You are caught between demons on one side and a dragon on the other.
The warriors stand side by side with their swords drawn, and Elvira, your sorcerer, can feel the magic tingling in her fingertips. But where is Raven Silverfinger? The thief who accompanied you from the inn and promised to know a secret way out of the mountain has disappeared. So is your gold wallet.”
It will be completely quiet at the table. Elvira's player flips frantically in his list of spells, and another grabs out for the dice.
The game manager smiles and says, “What are you doing?”.
