A show about women who, in times of war, fight not only for survival, but also for the right to be themselves in a world full of judgments and patriarchal limitations.

The story focuses on female sex workers and two women who, despite the differences in their biographies, wear identical costumes. This is a symbol of one of the main plots of the play, which boils down to the statement: regardless of a woman's history and choices, society will judge her quickly and harshly.

One of the heroines uses sexuality in a conscious and practical way, and allocates the funds earned on OnlyFans to support the military. The second, already as a widow, discovers two significant changes in the body: pregnancy and sexual desires.

The protagonists are accompanied by a chorus of spectators, commenting on their behavior, which gives the show an interactive and social dimension. The audience becomes part of the evaluation system that women experience on a daily basis. The show also shows a closed cycle of social judgment, betrayal, fight and escape attempts through a role-swapping mechanism. In this way, the one who judged herself falls under the tabernacle of opinion.

“Invasion” speaks of the right of women to autonomy, choice of profession, sexuality, pleasure, love and fullness of femininity. This is a story not only about war and survival, but also about the freedom, courage and dignity of women who face the harsh social norms, discover their power, as well as the right to be themselves.

The interviews with the protagonists were conducted at the headquarters of Club Eney clubeney.org.ua — an NGO working to support sex workers and women addicted to drugs in Ukraine, including in frontline cities.
