What’s so funny about Ireland?

Ireland is constantly producing some of the greatest talents in comedy writing and performing. Among the most exciting breakthrough stars of the last few years are Kyla Cobbler, who has gone from an amassing over 1.2 million followers for her Instagram posts to a forthcoming headline show at Dublin’s iconic 3Arena and a No.1 bestselling book; the award-winning and world’s only Irish, Indian, gay comedian (probably), Dane Buckley; and fast rising stand-up comedian and writer Caroline McEvoy, from Bangor, Northern Ireland

As one of the UK & Ireland's most exciting and fastest-rising Irish comedians, her debut stand-up, storytelling hour 'Train Man' received critical acclaim at Edinburgh Fringe in 2025 and was later listed in the Irish Times best shows to see at Dublin Fringe. She is also the founder and resident host of four-time Chortle Awards winning night Comedy Bandits and an alumna of Soho Theatre Labs 2023. She also produces, performs at, and hosts storytelling and spoken word literary events at The Twist. Her writing has appeared in The Guardian. Bursting onto the comedy circuit in 2022, Dane has been a finalist on LGBTQ+ New Comedian of the Year (2022), British Comedian of the Year (2024), BBC New Comedy Awards (2024) and Sean Lock Comedy Awards (2025). His sell-out Edinburgh Fringe debut, Darling, received a glut of five-star reviews and nominations, winning The Breakthrough Award at The Besties. He has supported Tom Allen, Joanne McNally and Josh Widdicombe on tour and appeared on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Comedy Central Live. Dane co-hosts the hugely popular podcast Welcome to Hell with Daniel Foxx, which debuted in the top 10 Apple and Spotify charts. His 2027 tour will be his biggest yet.

Known for her raw, unfiltered storytelling, rapid-fire crowd work, and magnetic stage presence, Kyla first built a huge digital following through viral Instagram reels, amassing over 1.2 million followers and 100 million video views, before taking the live stage by storm in 2021. Since then, her Gone Rogue tour sold out across Ireland, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, and the follow-up tour, Not My Lemons, soon coming to Dublin’s iconic 3Arena. As well as being a sought-after guest on television and top comedy podcasts, Kyla has now become a Number 1 Bestseller for her debut book, Happy, Thank You. More, Please.
