Three years after its founding, the New York Isidore Quartet, trained at the Juilliard School, won the prestigious Banff Competition in 2022. The four musicians are our guests with two Viennese classics and Billy Child's String Quartet No. 4, which they premiered in May 2026 with the subtitle “American Mosaic.” According to the composer, the work addresses the “problematic relationships between ethnic backgrounds in America.” But he is convinced “that, at best, America can be a mosaic of diverse backgrounds and cultures—a combination of different ethnicities working together to form an inclusive, united, and complete nation. ”
