We invite you to the third travel meeting of the series “Passport to Literature”, during which we will discover together Italy - not only that famous for postcards and tourist guides, but above all the real one, full of human stories, emotions and unusual encounters.
The guest of the meeting will be Grzegorz Tokarczyk.
The event will take place on 13 November 2026 (Friday) at 17:00 in the reading room of the Main Library (ul. Franciszkaniska 11, 1st floor).
Admission is free.
During the meeting, Grzegorz Tokarczyk will talk about his travels in Italy, focusing primarily on its inhabitants and their daily lives. It will be an opportunity to look at Italy from a slightly different perspective — not through the lens of the most famous monuments, but through the stories of people encountered along the way.
The stories will be accompanied by photographs from the trip, showing both colorful Italian streets and ordinary, often inconspicuous scenes from the life of the inhabitants. It is in such moments — casual encounters, conversations and everyday situations — that you can see the true face of a country whose culture and lifestyle invariably fascinate visitors.
The event is organized as part of the project “Literature without borders” co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Fund for the Promotion of Culture.
