Italian for Beginners is a warm, witty Dogme 95 comedy about six single Copenhageners whose lives unexpectedly intertwine when they sign up for an evening class in Italian. Against the backdrop of a wintry city, tentative friendships, unlikely romances and new possibilities begin to emerge. With gentle humour and tenderness, Lone Scherfig’s ensemble film celebrates the awkwardness of human connect
