The program of the scientific-artistic session covers a wide range of issues related to guitar music.
On the 40th anniversary of Alexander Tansman's death, his guitar work will be discussed in light of the latest research. The role and importance of the guitar in the musical world during the time of Fryderyk Chopin will also be presented. Pepe Payá, director of the Jose Tomas International Guitar Festival in Petrer, Spain, will tell the fascinating story of the discovery and contemporary staging of the opera “Il Telemaco nell' isola di Calipso”, which in 1797 he made his debut as composer of the later greatest guitar classic, Fernando Sor. An important place in the program of the session is also occupied by a variety of topics related to the history, the present and the perspectives of guitar luthification.
