The show is recommended for viewers over 16 years of age.
The titular Iwona, although she is considered unattractive, becomes the bride of Prince Philip, who proposes to her in defiance of everyone. What was supposed to be a puppy prank by the prince, however, results in serious consequences. Iwona begins to focus the attention of the whole court on herself and introduces confusion into his life. After all, she becomes a threat to him, and no one doubts what needs to be done with her.
In the interpretation of Adam Orzechowski, Iwon, like the audience, comes to the theater. The patriarchal and violent world of the court does not accept her with love - on the contrary, in a sophisticated way it wants to get rid of her.
Court reality is produced between viewers and actors, and being in it allows us to ask ourselves essential questions: to what extent do we take responsibility for what happens around us? What happens in a person whom someone perceives in a certain way? Finally, can we all, under certain circumstances, commit a crime and do we not happen to commit it every day, albeit in a way that is not necessarily bloody and spectacular? Are we part of the court, or Iwona, or maybe both?
The show begins in the upper foyer of the Big Stage. Entrance is possible only from the side of the Carbon Market.During the performance there is a lot of interaction with the spectators, there are loud sound effects, including gunshots. From March 11, 2026, Maria Kresa will perform in the role of Iwona.
