IX Festival of Patriotic Song “For Independent”

The festival is an opportunity to showcase the vocal talents of children and young people, as well as to cultivate the tradition of singing patriotic songs. Through music, the participants will remind about the history of Poland, its culture and traditions and express their attachment to their homeland.

Students of primary and secondary schools from the Zduńskowskie district can take part in the competition. Performances will be held in four age categories: grades I—III, IV—VI and VII—VIII of primary schools and secondary schools. Soloists, duets, as well as vocal and vocal-instrumental ensembles will perform on the stage.

The repertoire of the competition should refer to Poland, its history, traditions, culture, nature or the experiences of its inhabitants. Participants can choose both traditional patriotic, military and legion songs, as well as contemporary songs expressing affection for the Motherland. All songs must be performed in Polish.

The competition auditions will take place on November 3, 2026 from 10:00 to 15:00, in the chamber hall of the MDK Town Hall. The performances will be evaluated by the jury, taking into account, among other things, the selection of the repertoire, the interpretation of the work, the diction and the vocal skills. The winners will receive prizes for places I, II and III in the respective categories, as well as the Grand Prix of the Festival and special prizes.

The culmination of the festival will be the Laureates' Concert combined with the award ceremony, which will take place on November 12, 2026 from 17.00 to 19.00 in the auditorium of the MDK Town Hall.

During the gala, the audience will hear the performances of the laureates of the festival, and the best performers will receive awards for their musical interpretations of patriotic works.

The festival is held under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of the City of Zduńska Wola Konrad Pokora, the Mayor of the Municipality of Zduńska Wola Antoni Wujda and the Mayor of Zduńskowalski Wojciech Rychlik.

The organizers of the event are Stefan Żeromski Primary School No. 11 in Zduńska Wola and the Municipal House of Culture Town Hall in Zduńska Wola.
