<span>SURFILMUSIC — a new documentary that traces Jack Johnson's development from surfer to filmmaker to world-famous musician. The film shows how Johnson's early years, during which he made surf films with close friends, laid the foundation for a much more diverse creative life, and captures moments in and out of the water that later reappeared in his song lyrics. By merging rare film material from these formative surfing films and Johnson's personal and family archives with today's reviews, the film shows how lived experiences, friendship and the desire to discover have shaped the sound and the stories behind the music.
