How to build relationships with young people, encourage them to actively participate in social and cultural life, and at the same time support them in dealing with emotions and everyday challenges? These are questions that are increasingly faced by teachers, educators, cultural animators and people working with young people. In response to these needs, the Centre for European Meetings “Światowid” in Elblag organizes two free trainings as part of the program “Very Young Culture 2026—2028”.

About the event

How to build relationships with young people, encourage them to actively participate in social and cultural life, and at the same time support them in dealing with emotions and everyday challenges? These are questions that are increasingly faced by teachers, educators, cultural animators and people working with young people. In response to these needs, the Centre for European Meetings “Światowid” in Elblag organizes two free trainings as part of the program “Very Young Culture 2026—2028”.

Contemporary work with young people requires not only knowledge and experience, but above all the ability to listen, understand the needs of young people and create a space in which they can have a real impact on the reality around them. It is equally important to support their psychological well-being and to build relationships based on trust, empathy and mutual respect.

The October trainings will be an opportunity to acquire practical skills, exchange experiences and learn tools that can be used in everyday educational, educational and animation work.

From idea to action - youth as a partner

The first training, entitled “From diagnosis to action plan - how to effectively involve young people in cooperation”, will take place on October 21, 2026, from 10:00 to 16:00, at the “Światowid” European Meeting Center in Elbląg.

How can young people not only be recipients of initiatives prepared for them, but become co-creators of them? How to recognize their needs, interests

and motivations, and then translate that knowledge into concrete actions?

The participants of the workshop will look at the different levels of youth involvement, learn how to diagnose the conditions of cooperation and develop solutions that promote the active participation of young people in social projects

The training will be conducted by Jan Wiśniewski - historian, participation specialist

at the Shipyard Foundation, member of the board of the Landscape Sightseeing Society and coordinator of numerous social and educational processes.

Second meeting, “Adolescent Mental Resilience

and adults - emotions, communication and support in the school environment”, scheduled for October 27, 2026.

Adolescence is a period of intense change, the search for one's own identity

and to face many challenges. Pressure from the environment, difficulties in relationships or strong emotions can affect the daily functioning of young people. That is why the role of adults who can see the needs of adolescents is so important

During the training, participants will learn how to better understand youth behaviors, support emotional self-regulation and a sense of agency, as well as how to respond effectively in situations of tension and conflict. An essential element of the meeting will be practical communication techniques based on empathy, while respecting boundaries.

There will also be a reflection on the mental condition of the adults themselves. Work

with young people involves a lot of responsibility and emotional involvement, so the program will also cover issues related to the prevention of burnout.

The workshop will be led by Aleksandra Dołowy - certified environmental therapist, addiction therapy instructor, TUS/TZA trainer and founder of the OLAMENTY brand.

Investing in skills that pays off

Both trainings share a common goal - to strengthen the competences of working people

with young people and creating the conditions for more informed partnership

This is a proposal for all those who want to go beyond the established patterns, better understand young people and respond more effectively to their needs. The acquired knowledge has a chance to translate not only into the quality of implemented projects, but above all into the relationships that form the foundation of valuable work with young people.

Because effective work with young people begins not with ready answers, but with a willingness to listen to their voices.

Participation in both trainings is free of charge. The number of places is limited and participation is determined by the order of applications. Applications and detailed information can be obtained from:

by phone: 55 611 20 89 by e-mail: katarzyna.olewniczak@swiatowid.elblag.pl

The trainings are implemented as part of the project “Very Young Culture 2026—2028”, co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage within the program of the National Cultural Center “Very Young Culture 2026—2028” and from the funds of the Warmia and Mazury Voivodship Self-Government.
