Jan Konop BIG BAND, “Let's return like in the old years” is a musical venture that revives Polish music from the interwar period of the 1920s and 30s of the last century.Performed by - Joanny Knitter - one of the most recognizable and charismatic singers from the Tri-City accompanied by the full composition of the Jan Konop Big Band orchestra. The repertoire of the concert consists of well-known and beloved hits, which were often sung by the whole of Poland.

One of the best jazz and entertainment orchestras in the country. Jan Konop Big Band, founded in 2009 on the initiative of Tricity musicians, is already an experienced and recognized band in Poland and abroad. He masterfully moves in the convention of jazz and entertainment music. The leader of the orchestra is Jan Konop, an experienced musician, trombonist and conductor, formerly a member of jazz orchestras: Big Band Gdańsk — Jerzy Partyka, Big Band Katowice — Zbigniew Kalemba and Andrzej Zubek, Entertainment Theatre in Chorzów — Jerzy Jarosik, Big Band PSJ in Bydgoszcz, Big Warszcz The Kukla Band — Zygmunt Kukli and the famous Alex Band — Aleksander Maliszewski. This band, formed in early 2009 in Gdańsk, consists of the most talented graduates and students of the Faculty of Jazz AM in Gdańsk, Katowice, Wrocław, Poznań and Łódź. So far, during concerts and artistic events, the band has collaborated with many musicians, soloists and vocalists, including: Jan “Ptaszyn” Wróblewski, Jarosław Śmietana, Wojciech Karolak, Adam Czerwiński, Maciej Sikała, Cezariusz Gadzina, Jerzy Małek, Karen Edwards, Billy Neal, Peter Weiss, Ewa Bem, Krystyna Prońko, Ewa Uryga, Joanna Knitter, Michał Kuczyński and Grażyna Łobaszewska. In addition to cooperation with outstanding musicians, the orchestra can also boast a series of awards won at national and international competitions and festivals: # Grand Prix at the XV Mezinárodní Hudebník Festival Česká Kamenice 2014 (Česká Kamenice/Czech Republic, 13-15.06.2014), # Grand Prix at the 16th Big Band Festival in Nový Tomyśl (2011), # 1st prize at the 4th Big Band Festival in Bydgoszcz (2010), # individual awards “Best Soloist Musician” for members of the JK Big Band (Paweł Nieski — Nowy Tomyśl and Jakub Hajdun — Česká Kamenice/Czech Republic). The jury of the “21st International Big Band Competition 2015 in Hoofddorp” (The Netherlands), selected our orchestra for the strict final, which took place on May 30 of that year.
