Viggo Mortensen plays a Danish captain, Gunnar Dinesen, working for the Argentine army in 1882 Patagonia. He is accompanied by his 15-year-old-daughter, Ingeborg, who finds love with a young soldier. The couple run away, leaving Dinesen distraught. Blinded by rage and desperation, he embarks on a solitary journey across an unforgiving mythical land in hopes of finding his beloved daughter.
Acclaimed Argentine director Lisandro Alonso breathes life into this revisionist western that pulsates with breathtaking beauty and colonial critique.
This screening will be introduced by Oscar Guardiola-Rivera.
