Agnieszka Wilczyńska — one of the esteemed singers of the Polish jazz scene — and Andrzej Jagodziński — an outstanding pianist, composer and arranger — have been working together since 2004, creating many musical projects together.

Their many years of cooperation resulted in, among others, a unique project “Wilcze Jagody”, the idea of which was born in 2017. The album was released in autumn 2019 and is the result of the meeting of two extremely experienced artistic personalities.

For the album Andrzej Jagodziński composed original works dedicated to Agnieszka Wilczyńska. Her characteristic timbre of voice and exceptional musical sensitivity perfectly harmonize with the original compositions of the pianist. The text layer was created by excellent authors: Wiesława Sujkowska, Stanisław Tym, Andrzej Poniedzielski and Jan Wołek, as well as Agnieszka Wilczyńska herself, who made her debut as a songwriter at the time.

“Wilcze Jagody” is a meeting of jazz, author's song and poetic word. The duo's intimate formula allows both Agnieszka Wilczyńska's vocals and Andrzej Jagodziński's pianistic narration to fully resonate, creating music based on subtleties, emotions and mutual dialogue.

The album “Wilcze Jagody” was appreciated by the music community and in 2020 received a nomination for the Fryderyk Award in the category Jazz Album of the Year.

The November concert as part of the Jazz at Krajowa series will be an opportunity to meet artists whose many years of cooperation has resulted in one of the most personal and intimate projects in their oeuvre.
