About the event

First there was the band EABS, which with its phonographic debut 10 years ago redefined what we call the young Polish jazz scene, and showed that by playing ambitious, independent music, one can achieve success. Later, Błoto evolved from EABS, releasing some of the music of the parent formation. On the other hand, the biggest breakthrough on the Mud road happened in Bucharest's Floreasca district, where they met Ion D, the central figure of the Romanian alternative scene combining global trends with native tradition. Mud and Iona were brought closer not only by a similar vision of music, but also by views on the history common to the countries of the former bloc - painful transformation and wild capitalism. The Polish-Romanian experiment is already “not only the cobblestones of Wrocław, but also the concrete of Bucharest” - say the artists themselves. Adding that their music without regret parted with the label “jazz”, but rather becomes “jazz on the ruins of jazz”. So if someone is not sure if psychedelia, electro, techno, house, dub, hip-hop, afrobeat, trance or ambient can (with a little jazz) become building blocks of art for the big “s” — they really should listen to the concert of Mud with Ion.
