JazzClub/MixMonk/Monkow-Coltrane Cocktail

Trio MixMonk was created in 2017 on the occasion of the commission of the Brussels cultural center BOZAR. Bram De Looze and Robin Verheyen, two outstanding musicians of the Belgian scene, often working together as a duo, have teamed up with acclaimed drummer Joey Baron to present interpretations of Thelonious Monk's works. The result of this collaboration was, among other things, two albums with compositions by Monk and original music of the trio. 2026 marked the centenary of John Coltrane's birth, which inspired the trio to return — under the motto MixMonk Supreme — with a new portion of Monk and Coltrane music. 2027 marks the tenth anniversary of the trio's existence, which the artists will celebrate with a European tour and a new album.
