The band Omasta hit the national and international jazz scene in 2025. Numerous concerts in prestigious locations (including London's Ronnie Scott's club, Brussels AB and Gent Jazz Festival) were highlighted by the album released by Astigmatic Records. “Jazz Report from the Hood” (in the original Jazz Report from the Hood) perfectly describes Omasty's music, which the band itself describes as a musical soundtrack to the daily struggles, ups and downs. Combining jazz, funk, hip-hop and street culture, Omasta draws inspiration from the works of giants: Roy Ayers, Donald Byrd, Bob James, Lonnie Liston Smith. The band played concerts dedicated to the music of J Dilli and Madlib. In Katowice, Omasta will therefore have a Cracovian American flavor.
