O.N.E.: Well, actually...
Kateryna Ziabliuk - piano, electric piano, synthesizers
Monika Muc - alto saxophone, soprano saxophone
Kamila Drabek - double bass, bass
Patrycja Wybrańczyk - drums, percussion
O.N.E. is one of the most interesting and uncompromising bands of the young Polish jazz scene. The quartet consists of pianist Kateryna Ziabliuk, saxophonist Monia Muc, double bassist Kamila Drabek and drummer Patrycja Wybrańczyk. The band's music combines contemporary jazz, improvisation, influences of contemporary music and intense, almost rock energy.
From the very beginning, the band attracted attention with its extraordinary sound consistency and its own musical language, escaping simple genre divisions. O.N.E. performed at the most important jazz festivals in Poland and abroad, and their latest album “Well, actually...” was released by the esteemed Danish branch April Records.
At Jazz Autumn, the quartet will present material from the last album, balancing between composition and open improvisation, music that is emotionally dense, rhythmically intense and built on a unique understanding between the musicians.
Yazz Ahmed: A Paradise in the Hold
Yazz Ahmed - trumpet, flugelhorn
Ralph Wyld - vibrator
Dave Manington - double bass
Rod Youngs - drums
Yazz Ahmed is a British-Bahraini trumpeter, composer and one of the most prominent figures in contemporary jazz. Winner of the Ivor Novello Award, she is known for her music that combines jazz, electronics, Arabic rock and stories growing out of her dual heritage. Her work is sometimes referred to as “psychedelic Arabic jazz” - intense, colorful, narrative and deeply personal.
At Jazz Autumn, Yzz Ahmed will present the project A Paradise in the Hold, based on her fourth studio album, released in 2025 by Night Time Stories. This is the artist's most complete immersion to date in her Bahraini roots: in the music of pearl fishermen, wedding songs, women's drumming circles, childhood memories and local stories.
A Paradise in the Hold is music about travel, memory and reclaiming identity - full of hypnotic rhythms, luminous melodies and a space where Ahmed's trumpet meets electronics, voice and Middle Eastern sounds.
After the well-received albums La Saboteuse and Polyhymnia, Yazz Ahmed confirms in A Paradise in the Hold her position as one of the artists who really broaden the language of jazz of the 21st century.
