Jazz Autumn at TCK: Piotr Pociask Quartet

The final of the cycle and the 35th anniversary of Piotr Pociaska's artistic work

The third edition of Jazz Autumn at TCK will end with a concert by Piotr Pociask Quartet. On Friday 11 December we will meet in the Piwnice TCK to listen to the original music of the guitarist, who this year celebrates 35 years of artistic work.

Piotr Pociask Quartet debuted in 1998. In the music of the band there is a place for melodic themes, expressive guitar riffs and improvisation. Pociaska's compositions have their own character, but during the concert not everything is predetermined in them. Musicians pick up on their ideas, develop them and let the songs live their own lives.

Piotr Pociask is a guitarist, composer and arranger. He has collaborated with artists from Poland, Europe and the United States, including Ulf Wakenius, Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski, Stanisław Sojka and Grażyna Łobaszewska. He is also an educator — he leads a jazz guitar class at the University of Rzeszów. Tarnów's audience also knows him as the originator and organizer of the Jazz Contest festival.

The quartet will be joined by pianist Joachim Mencel, bassist Dariusz Ziółek and drummer Paweł Dobrowolski. The latter will be heard twice in this year's series — he will also perform with Bernard Maseli's band. Each of the musicians brings their own style to the quartet, and their playing together gives Pociaska's original works space for changes and surprises.
