Canadian pianist and composer Jean-Michel Blais combines classical piano playing with improvisation, electronics and contemporary minimal music. Since his acclaimed debut Il (2016), he has made an international name for himself with his intimate, emotional musical language. His music has already been nominated several times for the Polaris Music Prize, nominated for a Juno Award and streamed millions of times worldwide.
Blais's compositions range between piano, strings, choirs and electronic soundscapes. On his fourth album Mirador (2026), he opens up a view of a vast, personal soundscape — inspired by travels, memories and his childhood in Quebec. A poetic, multi-layered concert experience is created between contemporary classical music and generous musical wealth.
