About the event

Canadian pianist, composer and performer Jean-Michel Blais will perform on March 17, 2027 in Warsaw's Jassmine! The classically educated artist has been creating his own, extremely personal musical language for a decade, combining piano with electronics, chamber music and contemporary minimalism. In September 2026, his fourth album “mirador” is released, opening the next chapter in the musician's work.

Jean-Michel Blais is a Montreal-based pianist, composer and performer with Arts & Crafts and Mercury KX (Decca). From the beginning of his career, the classically educated artist builds an extremely intimate relationship with the piano, treating improvisation, sound and silence as equal elements of his own musical language. His debut album “Il”, released in 2016, attracted the attention of an international audience and was included in the list of the ten best albums of the year by TIME magazine.

Blais's work earned him a spot on the Polaris Music Prize shortlist and two Juno nominations, and his catalog has surpassed 397 million plays. He also performed in front of an audience of nearly 40,000 at the Montreal Jazz Festival and collaborated with the Orchestre de l'Agora and Orchestre symphonique de Québec. His music, although he grew out of a classical education, freely crosses the boundaries of neoclassicism, ambience and electronics.
