Jesca Hoop's seventh solo album 'Long Wave Home' overflows with hope for a world in tatters. The album from the California-born, Manchester-based songwriter took shape amid a period marked by both personal and geopolitical upheaval -- a network of divisions which seemed to mirror each other as they unfolded. It is the first album Hoop has produced herself, and it marks both a new beginning and a further deepening of her extensive and multifaceted discography.

Through the album's rich and rich tracks, Hoop reflects deeply on what people owe each other: in close relationships, in community, and as witnesses to the larger world around us. These days, everything is steeped in fear and unease. 'Long Wave Home' delves into this darkness and reappears with a supple and curious spirit.

From her safe hand emerged a vivid and dynamic soundscape. These songs about relationships carry the relational at their core; from the undulating, voiced percussion on “Now the Ashes” to the interplay of blowers, piano, guitar and vocals on “Adam,” where the instruments most closely match each other.

The album is rounded off with a fragile and powerful title number, the atmosphere of which hangs heavily on the resonance of the interwoven instruments. With “Long Wave Home”, Hoop embraces the empty skeleton of isolation with warm arms and wraps you in. There is strength in solidarity, in the simple recognition that we all yearn for connection. “You're not alone,” she sings. “Long waves are carrying you all the way home.”

Somewhere there is a coast. Somewhere there is a receiver. Somewhere -- and it's not as far away as it seems -- the waves of the ocean are refracted against solid ground, the noise is tuned in to a song, and the heart burns brightly again, like pulsating lights atop distant radio towers.

With its expressive and sometimes whispery voice, Sol Over Neon creates an intense and present atmosphere on stage. The music is based on an understated melancholy and with intense and honest poetic lyrics, Sol Over Neon opens up the pretzel hooks of the mind and sings about all that we all contain of frustration, sadness, loss and love. The words are supported by a textural and textural sound side, where a hand-played guitar is mixed with everything from voice-saturated soundscapes and distorted saxophone. A kind of alternative indie pop.

Peter Albrechtsen is far from an undescribed magazine on the music scene, where he has played with bands such as Brimheim, Sys Bjerre, JUJU ME, Penny Police and The Kikos, and has performed at, among others, Smukfest, Stella Polaris, DR's Studie 2, TV2 Go' Morgen DK, Loppen and Spot Festival, as well as the music he has played on, has been played on P4 and P6.
