Autumn of the bards - Kuba Blokesz and Yanistan

In the autumn — together with the bards — we will walk along a trail that has been repeatedly trodden and under much faded banners. We will remember the songs and poems of the legendary Leonard Cohen and the songs and messages of the equally legendary Jack Kaczmarski.

Cohen is dared to be touched, moved and revived by Kuba Blokesz and the three-piece duo Yanistan. Blokesz will follow the Cohen word and the complicated life of the Canadian poet, Yanistan will present us with his vision of his musical legacy. Even if this compilation does not give a complete picture of the stage and literary legend, we will experience once again what has kept us in suspense for years, when we hear the first sounds of the Blue Dust Man or Susanna. We will see that in the great Bardonian excellencies the distance between the “hit” and the “message” is not cosmic, but human. The calm and at the same time moving narration of Kuba Blokesz, tested in the stories of other of the most outstanding poets of the song, will be complemented by the dynamic musical message of Yanistan, who brings together in his stage vision, close to rock temperament, all the bards of the world - from Wysocki to Cohen.

Kaczmarski will be illuminated for us by two loners with guitars, restless and searching spirits: Eugeniusz Malinowski and Jarosław Chojnacki. The former — who calls himself a Siberian bard in Polish — will disturb us with the story of those who today translate Kachmarsky into Russian in Russia and sing there. He will also mention the most important inspirations of Kaczmarski, firmly rooted in the freedom message of Włodzimierz Wysocki. Jarosław Chojnacki will remind us of the master's “hits” in peculiar, emotional interpretations, convincing listeners that even the simplest song can be metaphysical in expression and message. The evening dedicated to Kaczmarski will be a great journey to the east, from which everything separates us today, except for the artistically expressed cultural community — after all. For connoisseurs of the Bard world: Malinowski will meet Chojnacki on stage for the first time, not counting a brief incident during the High Festival in Gajów many years ago. That's enough of a reason to come to the concert.
