Imagine that you are sitting comfortably in an armchair, and the day slowly fades above you. We will begin our astronomical story with a picturesque sunset, looking at how the Earth's atmosphere affects the image of the visible sky. As darkness falls, we will go on a virtual journey away from civilization to compare the light-polluted city sky with the breathtaking depth and beauty of a truly dark cosmos with our own eyes.
Our first guide on the night firmament will be easily recognizable, distinctive star systems. We will learn the basics of astronavigation, following the virtual lines we will point to the North Pole and find the silhouettes of other majestic constellations hosting above our heads. The real treasures will be revealed to our eyes as we plunge into the autumn night. We will then turn our gaze towards distant galaxies, twinkling star clusters and distant planetary systems. Deep night will show us the famous galaxy M31 in the constellation Andromeda, we will also pay attention to the vast constellation Pegasus, with special attention to the characteristic asterism - the Autumn Square.
October night is also an excellent time to observe phenomena in our own solar system. During our trip, a special place will be occupied by Saturn, which will be wonderfully visible throughout the night. This hike will also be graced by the phenomenon of “shooting stars” — light streaks left by one of the most famous autumn meteor swarms — the Orionids.
A visit to the Planetarium of the Marine Science Center is a guarantee of great fun and unforgettable experiences. Space travel under our dome offers an extraordinary aesthetic experience and allows us to look at the world around us from a completely unusual perspective, making the cosmos literally at our fingertips. It is a unique experience that combines educational curiosity with a fascination for science, encouraging you to explore the mysteries of the universe on your own.
