“The Night Before the Hen Drinks” Tales Harbour 23.10.2026

“That night before the chicken drinks.”

Narrative-educational performance on the phenomena of Polish traditional culture. It consists of two intersecting parts. One of them is stories about traditional customs and rituals present in the former and partly modern Polish countryside, rituals that accompanied the most important stages of human life — birth and death. The second is to present the story in the form of a story or folk tale. The creators of the show — professional actresses and musicians — reach for a deeply expressive form, enriched with an attractive artistic form: scenography, costumes, projections and live accordion music.

The performance inaugurates the Przyn of Stories — a new space at MSK: Widzew Wschód — 502 Cultural Center, promoting the art of living words.

The project was produced by the Municipal Culture Zone in Łódź with a targeted grant from CAS.
