“Another Night Before the Hen Drinks” narrative performance staged by Masha Bogutskaya

“That Night Before the Hen Drinks” is a narrative performance that will touch on the topics closest to man — birth and death. It consists of two intersecting parts. One of them is stories about traditional customs and rituals present in the former and partly modern Polish countryside, rituals that accompanied the most important stages of human life. The second is the presentation of the story in the form of a story or a folk tale. The creators of the show — professional actresses and musicians — reach for a deeply expressive form, enriched with an attractive artistic form: scenography, costumes, projections and live accordion music.

Script, staging, stories — Masha Bogutskaya. Stories and singing by Agnieszka Smolak. Arrangement and music by Jakub Kupiec.

The first event within the FRAMEWORK OF THE HARBOUR OF STORIES, which was established by Masha Bogutska, as a new space promoting the art of living words in our house of culture.

The project was produced by the Municipal Culture Zone in Łódź with a targeted grant from CAS.
