Jethro Tull concerts are not only about music - they are also about the unique atmosphere, visual effects and charisma of Ian Anderson, who has delighted audiences for years with his stage energy and mastery of playing the flute.
It will be a true musical journey through nearly 60 years of the band's history. A must-have for fans of ambitious rock and concert thrills at the highest level.
Jethro Tull are a British rock band formed in 1967 in Blackpool on the initiative of Ian Anderson. Initially, the group played blues rock, but soon began to look for their own, original sound. The hallmark of the band became Anderson's transverse flute, rarely found in rock music. The name of the team comes from the 18th century agronomist Jethro Tull, inventor of the seeder.
The breakthrough came with the 1969 album Stand Up, which reached the top of the UK sales charts. In the following years, Jethro Tull recorded albums combining rock, folk, jazz and classical music. The 1971 album Aqualung became one of the most important works in the history of progressive rock. The band's lyrics often touched on the themes of religion, society and human nature.
In 1972, the concept album Thick as a Brick was released, consisting of one extended track. This record established the band's position as one of the leaders of progressive rock. Jethro Tull were also famous for their theatrical, polished concerts. Over the years, many musicians have passed through the band, but Ian Anderson has remained its unchanging leader.
In the 1980s, the group experimented with sound, reaching for synthesizers and elements of electronic music. Despite the changing trends, Jethro Tull have retained a recognizable style. The band has sold more than 60 million records worldwide. In 1988, he received a Grammy Award in the hard rock/metal category, which caused quite a bit of controversy.
Today, Jethro Tull are recognized as one of the most important formations in the history of rock music. Their work had a great influence on the development of progressive rock and folk rock. The band continues to tour to this day, attracting both long-time fans and new generations of listeners.
