Joan as Police Woman has been defying traditional musical definitions for two decades. The singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has worked with artists as diverse as Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, Rufus Wainwright, Sheryl Crow and Meshell Ndegeocello over the years. Her own work alternates between soul, alternative pop, rock and experimental music, and the common denominator remains one of the most recognizable voices of the contemporary independent scene.

This year, Wasser returned to where she started her solo career. Exactly twenty years after the release of her debut “Real Life”, she recorded the album again, but its new version, “Real Life Evolution”, is not an attempt to recreate the past. The pieces matured together with the artist for two decades, taking on new shapes and taking on new meanings. Now he presents them to the public in a version that has matured over the years.
