Louisiana and super dancer Joaquín Grilo have become a firm tradition -- and again this year the flamenco dance champion with his formidable troupe is visiting the museum.
Joaquin Grilo from Jerez, Andalusia, is one of the greatest living masters of flamenco dancing. He was for many years part of the legendary Paco de Lúcia's famous jazz-flamenco group, where, with his charisma, extremely rapping feet and distinctive work with his arms, he quickly caused a stir beyond the borders of Spain. Grilo has shifted boundaries of what flamenco dancing can do. He delivers dramatic madness, often satirically unpretentious with a twinkle in his eye. With each performance, he elevates flamenco dance as an art form.
For this evening he has taken some of his hometown's stars to what was immediately the classic group, as you know it from Andalusia's many tablao scenes. Look forward to an evening of fire, passion, satire and immeasurable beauty.
