After retiring from music for an extended period, John Vincent III returned with the album Songs for the Canyon (2023). The release features evocative, '70s inspired arrangements co-produced by Grammy-winning sound engineer Tom Elmhirst (Adele, David Bowie) at legendary studio Electric Lady Studios.

The album marks a significant artistic leap, with John Vincent III having expanded his soundscape with a more voluminous instrumentation and beautiful atmospheric harmonies.

Songs for the Canyon is inspired by the music that sprang from the Los Angeles area of Laurel Canyon during the 70s with names such as Joni Mitchell, The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Carol King and others. Atwood Magazine wrote in their enthusiastic review of the album:

“Singer/songwriter John Vincent III spills his aching heart and soul in his sophomore record Songs for the Canyon, a breathtakingly beautiful folk album made with love and tender care.”

Now the songwriter is channelling that momentum into his next full-length album, due out during the year.

With melodious and heartfelt songs deeply rooted in classical, American folk, John Vincent III is ready to make time stand still in Little VEGA on June 5.
