About the event

Jon Andreson and The Band Geeks preforming YES Epics, classics & more

Jon Anderson is a character perfectly known to all fans of sophisticated rock. In 1968, he and bassist Chris Squire formed one of rock's most famous bands, YES. He previously performed in the group The Warriors.

Anderson, known for his high tenor vocals, was a member of Yes until 2004.

In 2009, he obtained American citizenship. In 2017, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Yes.

In September 2004, Yes completed a tour to celebrate the band's 35th anniversary and for 4.5 years in heaven. In the last week of the tour, Anderson suffered from stress, asthma, bronchitis and general exhaustion.

A personal conflict with other members of the team, and especially with Steve Howe, caused Andrson's definitive separation from his colleagues.

In the following years he prepared solo recordings and recorded albums in collaboration with Jean Luc Ponty and Roine Stolte.

In 2016, Anderson announced the formation of Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman, a new formation formed together with Trevor Rabin and Rick Wakeman, with the intention of touring and recording new material. The musicians appeared in Poland, among others, at the Legend Rock festival in the Charlotte Valley near Słupsk.

Although the musicians made an attempt to record a studio album with new material, but it was not completed. The group disbanded in 2020. Meanwhile, at about the same time in the USA, musician and engineer Richie Castellano gathered several capable instrumentalists who began their “career” with performing and recording classics of rock music.

When they decided on new developments of Yes songs during the pandemic and when they began airing the podcast cycle “Band Geek with Richie Castellano” (also in video version on You Tube), they caught the attention of Jon Anderson, who invited them to collaborate.

From 2023, the gentlemen began touring regularly under the banner of Jon Anderson and the Band Geeks, and a year later they recorded the album True together.

They toured together again in 2024 and 2025, with one reviewer stating, “The Band Geeks do an amazing job of evoking Yes and it's so refreshing to hear what sounds like a new Yes album with Jon Anderson on board.” And Anderson said of this collaboration: “I have the Yes I wanted” and added that it allowed him to stop dreaming of meeting Steve Howe's Yes again.

On December 12, 2024, it was announced that a concert album entitled “Live - Perpetual Change” would be released on March 14, 2025 in various formats (CD/DVD, vinyl and Blu-ray). Recorded and filmed with Jon Anderson at The Arcada Theater in St. Charles, Illinois in May 2023, the album is composed entirely of songs from the classic Yes era of the 1970s. “Classic Rock” magazine called the result “incredibly good” and noted that the band “coped with the task, respectfully reproducing songs created five decades ago” and also noted for their “dazzling choruses”.

On November 10, 2025, it was announced that the second studio album with Anderson would be released in the second half of 2026, and in the meantime the band toured the US and Europe.

The tour was named “YES Epics, Classics and More” and by a lucky twist of fate it will land in Poland.

On 8.10.2026 the band will play in Poznań in Sala Ziemi, and 10.10.2026 in Zabrze at the House of Music and Dance and it will be a real musical celebration!
