Jonah Blacksmith Announces Film Concert Arena Tour 2027!

In January and February, the successful seven-man orchestra from Thy — led by the Alstrup brothers — will play their highly acclaimed Film Concert in a magnificent arena format around the country's major stages — including at K.B. Hallen in Copenhagen on 12 February and at Aarhus Congress Center in Aarhus on 23 January. Ticket sales will start on Sunday 27 September at 10 a.m. via dtdconcerts.dk.

After two sold out Film Concerts in Jyske Bank Boxen and Royal Arena back in 2025, Jonah Blacksmith has revisited the film — created some new scenes and made new music — and is now ready to take on a number of arenas in Jutland, Funen and Zealand with the project that is constantly evolving.

A Jonah Blacksmith Film Concert contains a very special field of tension, alternating between a documentary about people, origins and dreams, and a hand-played live concert where the songs and their origins unfold on the mighty screen behind the band from Thy. The interaction between the medium of film and the traditional concert form is an utterly heart-rending undertaking that, in addition to giving the band's songs a sound base of lived life, is simply a celebration of community, cohesion and the joy of playing music together.

“The film concert means something very special to us. It's heartbleed, and we believe that the film, hand in hand with the songs, can touch something in all of us. We are proud to be able to tell about the things we are surrounded by — about family, about those we love, and not least to dare to share the ever-lurking fear of losing each other and ourselves as human beings,” said the brothers and front-runners Simon and Thomas Alstrup, and continue: “It is great for us to be able to share the film and our music in these magnificent halls and at the same time strive to do so. best to create evenings saturated with intimacy and presence.”

Jonah Blacksmith is a seven-man ensemble with the heart and root of Thy. The love of the great expanses and the North Atlantic horizon has left its mark in the music as well as in the people. The band consists of brothers Thomas and Simon Alstrup as well as Lasse Alstrup, Søren Bigum, Jon Kjeldsen, Søren Poulsen and Thor Kortegaard.
