JORDAN. WHEN THE ROAD IS THE GOAL

One winter night I bought a one-way ticket to Jordan. The only plan was to reach the mysterious Petra, a city carved centuries ago in the rocks. During a nearly three-month solo trip, I returned there many times, slept in caves, hiked through mountains and gorges, met the Bedouins, worked with them and shared everyday life outside the tourist trail. It is a story about meetings and friendships, the silence of the desert, being close to nature and the people who are connected to it. It is also a story about hiking with the donkey Kia, about making dreams come true and the cinematic unpredictability of the road (including an episode of being a TikTok star in the Middle East). These stories are illustrated by author's photographs and I assure you that even for them it is worth coming to this presentation.

Jolanta Suszko-Adamczewska - photographer, traveler and hatha yoga instructor. He conducts photography workshops, travel presentations, yoga trips.

Travel was my first love and it was they that led me to consciously photograph. Photography, initially a passion, became my profession seventeen years ago. In my work as a photographer, I mainly deal with portrait, document and sensual photography. Man is always at the center of my attention. In travel, the most important thing for me is to experience being on the road - without plans, unhurried, always on my own, with a tent and close to local communities. With the camera I traveled through Europe, Southeast Asia, North Africa, the Middle East.
