Christmas knitting bio

Meet Me in St. Louis' follows the Smith family during the year 1903 as they wait for the World's Fair to open and for their hometown of St. Louis to become the center of the world for a time. But the children's dreams burst when their father announces that the family is moving to New York for Christmas. It leads to a sorrowful scene in which the younger sister Esther (Judy Garland) sings the song 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' with tears in her eyes. The film premiered during World War II, when audiences yearned for better times, love and togetherness, and it still stands as one of the best-loved musicals and Christmas movies.
