An extremely contemporary story set in the reality of post-war Rome.

Delia, still a beautiful forty-year-old, is regularly beaten by her primitive husband. In her battered and worked body, however, lives the spirit of a strong and wise woman. Subjected to incessant humiliation from a patriarchal world in which women are second-class people, she retains her dignity and does not lose hope that tomorrow will be better.

The black and white film, referring to the stylistics of Italian neorealism, is a balanced combination of drama and comedy elements, telling about gaining independence, taking life into one's own hands and demolishing existing schemes. Paola Cortellesi's daring directorial debut (also in the lead role) was a huge success in Italian cinemas and won a record number of nominations for Italian film awards.

After the screening, we cordially invite you to a short lecture continuing the new series at the Grajfka Cinema — Filmowa Europa. The series was prepared for connoisseurs of European cinema.
